This interesting therapy was introduced into the UK in the 1990's and brought to both the public domain and the complementary health field by several highly qualified, ethical practitioners.
Developed by Gary Craig in the United States from Dr. Roger Callahan's “Thought Field Therapy” and with roots in Applied Kinesiology and Acupressure, the results now being achieved with this simple technique are profound and inspirational.
Gary 's statement of “The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system” gives us a clue to the body's reaction and abreaction to shock, trauma, abuse and anxiety. EFT is a non-invasive Meridian Therapy that involves gentle tapping on specific and vital Meridian Energy points. This stimulus, along with the use of guided thought and statements, shifts any old, invasive thought and trauma patterns and extends constructive energy to the whole of the body. Working on the body's energy grid system, it has the capacity to release old unwanted issues and to reinstate clear and beneficial factors.
Used extensively for any emotionally charged condition, its application is appropriate for a myriad of conditions from low self esteem and confidence to severe trauma and abuse. It has also been effective in the treatment of fear and phobia, grief, addiction, headaches, body pain and breathing difficulties.
The reported improvements in peoples' quality of life are right across the board of human experience. The confirmation of effectiveness of this treatment for conditions from major Post Traumatic Stress Disorder to simple anxiety is heart warming.
Gary Craig also developed ways to make this very effective therapy more accessible to the world as a healing tool so that the basic procedure could be learned and used by anyone. This is a technique that can easily be learned and utilised. With no known side or adverse effects, it can be learned from your practitioner and then used at home for self help or for day to day procedure.
EFT is primarily about returning the mind, body and feelings to a state of balance and harmony so that there is no ill effect or limitations from negative emotions. A practice of amazing potential, it is capable of removing all unwanted issues and emotional baggage effectively and permanently, and usually in just a short space of time. Longer and experienced care and continued treatment from a qualified practitioner may be needed in some cases and for some conditions.
Rena's thoughts on EFT
In our search for balance and harmony, I believe that in any Healing modality we need to work with people until they are overwhelmed by Love and Joy, so that any small remaining shadow, embraced by this positive energy, then becomes insignificant. This therapy, if practised with compassion and the energy of love can do just that.
I feel honoured to have been able to be a very small part of this incredibly rapid extension to healing, which is happening worldwide. Gary Craig's spirit of giving and sharing these techniques virtually free and without copyright to the World has led this field in an outpouring of love and healing that is rarely witnessed.
It is THE most profound Healing Technique that I have experienced in my many years of practice and is an excellent adjunct to any healing therapy.
I advocate its use for anything from day to day stress to severe trauma and I urge you all to find out more about this easy to use technique.
